Nut Pops is a 10-minute fantasy/romcom film about an awkward 23-year-old man called Benjamin ‘Benny’ Davis. He is an employee at Nut Pops, a cereal company call centre. Benny has the most mundane life you could think of. No friends, a job he hates, a crush he barely talks to and a dream to become a comic book illustrator. After another uneventful day at work, he begins to have fantasies about having an exciting life to escape his boring world. His fantasies involve him being the focus of everyone's attention, he’s popular, he gets the courage to ask his crush out and he has a published comic book. These fantasies start to make Benny realise he doesn't want them to be dreams, he wants them to be his reality. He wants to have a group of friends, he wants to ask his crush out on a date and he wants to take steps towards publishing his comic. Benny decides he should take the leap and ask Ellie out on a date but when he finally does muster up the courage he is interrupted by a man who was waiting for Ellie and assumes it is her boyfriend so decides not to ask. The next day he is made redundant from his job which propels him to send off his comic to a publishing company and when he does he gets pleasantly surprised when Ellie turns around and asks him out for drinks, showing his fantasies can be his reality.
